We are pleased to announce that Animal Planet will be airing a special 60-minute T.V. show called Alaska Dogs!
The show will feature a segment on Joe and our malamutes on an Arctic Expedition!
The film crew traveled around Alaska, documenting different kinds of working dogs in various capacities. It should be an interesting program.
The synopsis on the Animal Planet website reads:
“Dogs are crucial to life in Alaska. Whether hauling goods across treacherous terrain, rescuing people buried by avalanches or racing across vast distances, these loyal companions have proven themselves integral to survival in this frozen frontier.”
The T.V. schedule for the program is as follows:
9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time :: Thursday, January 06, 2011
12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time :: Friday, January 07, 2011
4:00 AM Eastern Standard Time :: Friday, January 07, 2011
Here are a few still photos from Joe’s segment of the filming:

We hope you have a chance to catch the show! We’re going to have to make special arrangements to watch it because we don’t have television! ![]()
That’s exciting! We will set the DVR so we don’t miss it!
That is so cool! I’ve marked my calendar as to make sure not to miss it! So neat
Yay! It will be in the middle of the night CET, but I’ll definitely record it and watch it at a later stage – and spread the news to mushing friends in Norway
We hope we can find a way to watch it too. We have Animal Planet as part of our cable subscription but we are hoping that it would be part of the programming here in Asia (Philippines in particular)
Congratulations and we hope that this will help in promoting Alaskan Arctic Expedition!
Love,

We actually just happened to catch a rerun of the show this weekend. Joe and team looked great! The best part was that Rukkus actually spent a few good minutes staring at the TV while Joe’s segment was on!
That’s funny. Rukkus must have recognized his “people.”
