We are Joe Henderson and Andrea Loveland. We live in the beautiful Golden Heart of Alaska in the Two Rivers area with our baby girl, our black lab (Melvin), and 36 purebred Alaskan Malamutes. We conduct remote dog sledding expeditions during the winter and fly-fish like there’s no tomorrow all summer.

Cool that you said yes to coming to Norway. I will come and listen. My “nyhetsblog” is in English, I am currently buliding a log cabin in the mountains. I have notified the Norwegian Alaskan malamute club, though mine are siberians……

Hello Joe and Andrea,
Can you tell me what the current status of your most recent litter and pups. I am a recreational musher and have been approached by a skijorer to help locate a female malamute pup to purchase. Do you have anything available or do you have any litters in the making ??? Thank you both in advance.
Hi Brian,
Thanks for the inquiry. We don’t have any pups for sale at the moment, but we are planning a litter for spring, so please keep in touch.
Wow, such great pics and adventures you have posted! We really enjoy looking at your pics while our 2 mals are sitting by our sides.
We have a male and a female, which are both 3 yrs old. We adopted them from Moonsong Mal Resuce in Idaho, what a great experience for us! Our first mal was also a rescue and was the best.
Look forward to seeing more pics soon!
P.S.-We especially enjoyed the pics of northern WYO, as we lived in Sheridan for a while, and I still work there, love it!
I have been looking for a pair of caribou fur mukluks and cannot seem to find what I’m looking for for sale. I have seen the ones you have on your kit list and they look like jsut what I need for my expedition.

P.s. your web site I an absoloute gen of a resource.
Do you know where I can get a DVD of the Alaska Dogs documentary? I’m having no luck but really enjoyed watching it on “Animal Planet” the other night and would love for my husband to see it. Thanks ~ Maeke (Mi-ka)
Hi Maeke,
I think Animal Planet might release it as a DVD at some point, but I don’t think it’s available yet. As we get more information from the producers of “Alaska Dogs” we’ll be sure to let you know what we find out.
Glad you enjoyed the documentary!
-Andrea
In the meantime, though, it looks like Animal Planet is still airing the show. The TV schedule on their website indicates it will air again on January 27th, 2011.

Also I read a comment that you may have puppies available in spring? would you keep me posted or send me info at: Rhythmpaws@aol.com I’m looking to find a female pup to train in as a new lead dog. I want to do some small races, but I have a very hard time trusting my dogs not to eat other dogs….any advice?
Adorable family! Haven’t emailed you in quite some time Joe. Just wanted to let you know through the family grapevine, that your mom gave my grandma your book to read. She can’t put it down. She’s really enjoying the stories, and is on the phone sharing them with her daughters. Thanks for sharing. I can’t wait to read it, and maybe meet you all one day.
